To promote their new record, AWOLNATION played the legendary Electric Ballroom in Camden last night, and opened the gig with a new composition, the quite electronic Run from the album of the same name. The singer Aaron Bruno was quite ecstatic waddling along the stage, and the fans joined in as soon as they heard the first beats of a song they knew - Soul Wars - from the 2011 Megalithic Symphony.
The atmosphere continued going up during Jump On My Shoulders for which Bruno got the entire crowd to wave their hands in the air. After Not Your Fault, the band returned to some new material with Windows, a sort of R&B-Rock song, followed by the first single of their new release, Hollow Moon (Bad Wolf).
The fans were shaking their heads shyly while discovering the new KOOKSEVERYWHERE!!!, but went mad again for the beloved Kill Your Heroes; as well as Burn It Down, which was introduced by a strong clapping and a loud response from the audience to the singer's "Hey Ho".
After an emotional roller-coaster, AWOLNATION closed the show on an impressive performance of the 12-minute long Knights Of Shame. They came back for a 4-song encore, starting with the melodic I Am, followed by All I Need, for which Aaron Bruno asked "Everybody put your arm around a person next to you, and feel good".
The penultimate song of the show and the last of their new compositions was Dreamers, which revived the chilled out atmosphere, preparing the audience for the infamous and eagerly awaited Sail. The bunch sang along the entire song, raising countless phones and cameras amongst the vibrating crowd. Bruno thanked the audience after his last lyrics, leaving the rest of the band to achieve the intense performance.
